Measurement of Yarn Postures in an Air Suction Gun
We measured the running yarn postures in an air suction gun. By the experiments, the effects of geometry parameters of an air suction gun on the yarn postures were cleared The average yarn diameter dym, which is the diameter of a spiral shape of the yarn posture, and the average yarn pitch pym, which is the pitch of a spiral shape of the yarn posture, decreases with an increase of air jet nozzle angle φ of an air suction gun. On the contrary, dym and pym increase with throat diameter of de Laval tube D. However, dym and pym are almost independent of the passage diverging angle θ and the passage converging angle α According to the comparison between the yarn postures and the yarn suction force, the relationship between the yarn postures and the yarn suction force was cleared.
