Linear Density Dynamics of Yarn in Friction Yarn Formation Process

To improve the production efficiency and yarn quality the dynamic characteristics of the friction yarn formation process a dynamic model describing the behavior of the process variables and the analysis of the process characteristics are inevitably required. This study is performed on the dynamic distribution of the cross-sectional area of the in-process bundle in the yarn formation zone and the dynamic change of the output yarn thickness based on a mathematical model. Simulation results by FDM, applying Forward Time Backward Space Grid showed that dynamic behaviors of yarn thickness was similar to that of a Is-order-system for the step change of the input rate of the fiber fleece. Frequency response analysis showed that there could be a process resonance, where a specific range of the fluctuation in the input fleece thickness resulted in the yarn thickness change more amplified than the nearby frequency zone, depending on the yarn delivery speed.
