The Design and Study on Comfort Properties of Functional Knitted Fabrics
Considering the fabric comfort from thermo-hydro and tactile properties, the functional knitted fabric is designed and knitted using special air envelope double structure. The novel fiber using in the fabric is characterized by the special properties, namely, elongateafter liquid moisture absorption and drying repristination after several minutes. The functional fabric can rapidly absorb and transport liquid perspiration and then generate effect of concavo-convex in the face. So the touch face of fabrics with the skin will change from plane to punctualated and the porosity of fabrics accrues, which promotes the comfort properties of fabrics. The air-permeability and moisture management are tested with the functional fabric and cotton fabric which is selected as the contrast fabric. There is reasonable agreement between the analysis and experiments.
