A Method for Evaluation of Thermal Transmittance of Textiles Materials
Various methods for evaluation of thermal transmittance of textile materials have been developed and described. An investigation was undertaken to compare KESF-TLⅡ, guarded hot plate apparatus and perspiring fabric thermal manikin, and to determine the accuracy of them. Several different kinds of fabrics were tested. The accuracy of the apparatus was determined by measuring the thermal resistance and thermal insulating values(T. I. V.). The perspiring fabric thermal manikin produced results that were most accurate. Then a new method to evaluate the property of thermal transmittance of the apparel and its fabrics was discussed.
