Investigation on TiO2/ZnO Water Sol Preparation and Application to Anti-UV Performance of Textile

TiO2/ZnO water sol was prepared by sol-gel using tetrabutylorthotitanate and zinc acetate dehydrate as precursor in order to investigate its anti-UV performance and treated on the fabric for the sake of preventing UV. It was found that the UV absorption performance of TiO2 / ZnO water sol became better with increasing TiO2 proportion The cotton fabric performance of shielding UV strengthened after finishing by the water sol. The UV permeation curve of fabric finished shift to long wave with more TiQ2, which corresponded to the rule of TiO2 /ZnO water sol. But the UV absorption spedtrum of the fabric finished was narrower than the corresponding water sol.
