Processing Technics and Mechanical Behaviors of Biodegradable PLA/Jute Composites
Biodegradable polymers can potentially be combined with plant fibers to produce biodegradable composites, A commercial PLA are used in combination with jute fiber to generate composites by the stacking-compression technique in heating. The tensile strength, the flexural one and the impact one of samples having different PLA/Jute fiber contents wt% (7:3, 6 : 4 or 5 :5) and different fiber direction between adjacent jute layers (0° 45°or 90° are investigated at the different conditions (temperatures,,pressures and heating time). The results show that the temperatures and the heating time have more effect for mechanical behaviors of composites. The composite with PLA/Jute fiber contents of 5 : 5 wt% or with jute fiber direction at 45°have the best tensile strength and flexural strength than the others. And, the optimum parameters of process are obtained by means of orthogonal test.
