Preparation and Study on Sound Insulation Feature of Flax Fabric/PVC Composites

In this study, according to sound waves propagation characteristics, the composites of flax fabric and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with different thickness, surface density and so on, have been prepared and their properties investigated. The interface morphological configuration of the samples were examined with scanning electronic microscopy, sound insulation performance under various sound pressure levels (SPL), dynamic mechanical properties and pliable performance, etc, have been tested and the results analyzed. At the same time, the sound insulation mechanism of the composites has been discussed. At last, the main factor to impact sound insulation feature of composites has been found, and then the flax fabric/PVC composites with good sound insulation feature, lightweight and good flexibility obtained.
