The Sound Insulation Performance of the PET/Glass Fabric/Polyvinyl-chloride Composites

In order to study the effect of hybrid composites on the sound insulation, on the base of the sound insulation of the polyester fiber fabric (PET) /polyvinyl chloride composite and the sound insulation of the glass fabric/polyvinyl chloride composite, a series of the PET/glass fabric/polyvinyl chloride hybrid composites were prepared, using the pouring procedure under normal pressure. The sound insulation performance and the dynamic mechanical property of these composites were tested and analyzed by a two-channel acoustic analyzer, DMA and so on. The resuits show that the sound insulation performance of the PET/glass fabric/polyvinyl chloride hybrid composites is increased as the surface density and the thickness of these composites increase, moreover, it takes on a trend of the step-like increase.
