8 ps Pulse From a Dual Locking Range Active Mode-Locked Fiber Laser
Dual locking range in a birefringence cavity active mode-locked fiber laser is demonstrated. A 8.1 ps neartransform limited pulse has been obtained by compressing the major axis component of the highly chirped mode-locked pulse. The compression technique includes the trimming off the minor axis component as well as chirp compensating using a length of positively dispersive SMF fiber. Simulation gives good agreement with the experimental results.
