ANALYSIS OF DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF QWS-DFB LASERS WITH TAPERED GRATING STRUCTURE

In this paper we have analyzed static and dynamic small signal response of direct modulated QWS-DFB laser with uniform, concave and convex tapered grating structure. Simulation results show that for stable structures, AM response is less sensitive to grating geometry. We show also there is an optimum concave tapered grating which has maximum FM bandwidth.
