CONTROLLING FBG REFLECTION/TRANSMISSION SPECTRA BY USING MULTIPLE MICRO-HEATERS
Experiments were carried out in order to control the reflection/transmission spectra of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). Multiple micro-heaters were used to introduce phase shifts at different parts of a grating. It has been demonstrated that FBG reflection/transmission spectra can be dynamically controlled by using an array of micro-heaters and by simply adjusting the driving currents or switching the heaters. We demonstrate that with the method described in this paper an integrated optoelectronic device can be constructed. Experimental details and test results are presented.
