Noise Suppression of Re-circular All-optical Buffer Based on SOA

In re-circular all-optical buffer when SOA is used as nonlinear element to produce nonlinear phase shift, noise is introduced evidently. Noise will accumulate during this repetitive amplification process and store time of buffer is restricted. This paper introduces a continuous optical base along with control light to this kind of all-optical buffer to suppressing the background noise. Experimental results prove that more store time and higher signal-to-noise ratio can be obtained.
