Performance of OCDMA System With Different Detection Schemes Using Modified Double Weight (MDW) Codes
The primary goal of the design of OCDMA systems is the data extraction by a user in the presence of other users or in other words, the presence of multiple access interierence (MAI). MAI is the dominant source of deterioration in an OCDMA system; therefoore, good design of the code sequences and detection scheme is important to reduce the affect of MAI. However, MAI can be reduced by using subtraction techniques,at the detection system. A new approach of detection technique namely Simple Direct (SD) detection scheme is also introduced. Comparative studies of the detection schemes were carried out using Modified Double Weight Codes (MDW). Modified Double Weight (MDW) Code is a Double Weight (DW) code family variation that has variable weight of greater than two. The theory is being elaborated and experimental simulation results are also presented in this paper.
