FIBER ACTIVE SENSING APPLICATION OF DFB LASER FOR REFLECTIVITY MEASUREMENT
The fiber active sensing application of distributed feedback (DFB) laser by utilizing the theory of self-mixing interference has been presented in this paper. Based on the thin film optics theory, the fiber active sensing application has been theoretical analyzed. The feasibility of the fiber active sensing application has been discussed in simulation and experiment, including the influence from the fiber dispersion and the attenuation caused by the increment of fiber length. For reflectivity measurement, good agreement between the numerical simulation and the experiment is obtained. This application can easily perform noncontact and remote measurement for reflectivity.
