MICROFLUIDIC FIBRE DEVICES FABRICATED BY FEMTOSECOND LASER INSCRIPTION AND CHEMICAL ETCHING

Micro-channels are fabricated into conventional single-mode optical fibres using focused femtosecond laser processing and chemical etching. Microfluidic fibre devices consisting of such integrated micro-channels for refractive index sensing are demonstrated.
