The Estimation Method on the Phase Delay Between Two Real Signals

It is important to estimate the phase delay between two real signals under Gaussian noise correctly. Some simple time-domain and frequency-domain methods are often to be used to estimate the phase delay between two real sinusoids signals. The time-domain ways are one way that based phasetime conversion or the generalized cross correlation (GCC) approach, there are many methods improved on them, such as the unbiased quartered delay estimator (UQDE), which delays two signals to get their quartered part, and then compute the phase delay. The frequency -domain way is given by the fast Fourier transforms on two signals. It is shown the conclusion by investigation: These ways can also be used to estimate the phase delay between two arbitrary real compound signals without reference to the frequency of two signals, and it is no limit to the single frequency signal. The feasibility is shown by the simulation result.
