The Design and Deployment of 40Gbit/s Experimental Network

In this paper, we design and verify the 40Gbit/s experimental system using ETDM (Electrical Time Division Multiplexing) transmitter and receiver, CS-RZ (Carrier-Suppressed Return-to-Zero) modulation, EFEC (Enhanced Forward Error Correction) and hybrid amplifier /EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier) over 500km True-Wave fiber composed of five spans of 100 km. Also, we evaluate and demonstrate the upgrade from existing 10Gbit/s channel to 40Gbit/s channel of OADM (Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer) network without changing inherent design.
