RESEARCH ON MASS CUSTOMIZATION OF E-BUSINESS APPLICATIONS BASED ON COMMON BUSINESS APPLICATION TEMPLATES WAREHOUSE
The development of electronic business information systems(EBIS)has entered an era of mass customization. Most techniques and methodologies that are currently used by the mass customiza tion of mechnical products, such as standarization, modularization, and componenets.etc., can be also applied to EBIS software production. One practical and effective approach is using templates, which are nearly complete applications where the completed parts include applications architecture and reusable components. In this paper, I first present a brief survey of common business application models that are derived from various e-business systems, and then I conceptualize templates-based approach by presenting the common business application templates warehouse and the architecture of an integrated software mass customization toolkit that I have been working for years. I conclude by an example showing the practicability of these approaches.
