IDENTIFYING ORANIZATIONAL FACTORS INFLUENCING THE E-PROCUREMENT IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS:A CASE STUDY BASED ON MOTOROLA TIGERS SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION

E-commerce changes the way of doing business, and also brings a lot of challenges to the enterprises. In order to gain the benefit of any e-commerce application, managers come to realize the importance of implementation issue, which envolves more than a merely implementation of IT solution. The way to manage the implementation at organizational level has much influence on the success or failure of an e-commerce application. This paper adopts case study approach to identify those important or ganizational factors influencing the e-procurement implementation process based on Motorola TIGERS System implementation. The research shows that technology factors have been given way to organizational factors in terms of important influence on implementation of an e-commerce application. Management support and envolvement are significant influences of implementation success. Also important factors are from sufficient communication and coordination among interested functions and departments, overcoming resistance from them. It is recommended that e-procurement implementation should be planned as an overall strategy instead of departmental strategy.
