Modeling Complex Neurodynamics with Spatio-temporal Chaos and Its Application to Analog Computation
In this keynote speech, I review the studies on chaotic neural networks:(1) electrophysiotogical experiments on chaotic responses generated by excitable neurodynamics in squtd giant axons and nonlinear time series analysis of the response data,(2) modeling of the chaotic neurodynamics by a bimodal map, or a chaotic neuron model and its extension to a network model of chaotic neural networks,(3) numerical and theoretical analysis on complex spatio-temporal dynamics with parallel distributed processing abilities in chaotic neural networks,and(4) electronic implementation of chaotic neural networks with analog IC chips for chaos computation.
