Continuous Bucket type Reclaimer KAIOSEI NO.2
For the massive reclamation works, high performaace and wide handling range of materials and also environmental concerns are simultaneously required.To meet mese demands, we, Sumitomo Heavy Industries. Ltd. completed the continuous bucket type reclaimer, which has a large reclaiming capacity of 3,000 m3/h.This report describes the technical development of the vessel, detail of performance and achievement in the actual reclamation works.We constructed mis vessel on the basis of the following development concept1. Continuous reclaiming capacity of 3.000 m3/h.2. Electric driven with automatic control system in order to realize easy operation and steady pace reclamation work.3. Smooth handling of wide rage of soils from clay to rock pieces including dredged soil.4. Efficient unloading of soils from any size mud barge in the capacity range from 1,000 m3 to 3300 m3 wimout changing the barges position during an unloading operation.5. Substantial energy saving and easy maintenance compared with the conventional hydraulic driven machine.6. Environmental friendly features, to prevent dust dispersion and sludge leaking, to realize lower mechanical noise and to achieve easy maintenance.Upon completion of mis vessel, the owner, Kanmon Kowan Kensetsu Co. started to use it for the Kansai airport 2nd phaseconstruction work, from June 2002, and has been working as the leading vessel of this project.The average reclaimed volume per month is over 500,000 m3 in the above works with marking the maximum instantaneousrate of over 3,300 m3/h. We believe mat the above data shows the successful achievement of the efficiently large capacityreclamation.
