Thermogravimetric Analysis and Determination of Kinetic Data for Simulation of Pyrolysis
Pyrolysis is the first step in thermochemical conversion and thus important for optimization of combustion and gasification. Different solid fuels show significantly different pyrolysis behavior that can be characterized by the content of volatile matter as the massloss during thermal decomposition. But pyrolytic destruction strongly depends on influencing parameters like temperature, heating rate and time. Aim of this work is the prediction of pyrolytic behavior with the help of a simple kinetic model based on Arrhenius using kinetic parameters that can be determined using a Shimadzu laboratory thermogravimetric analyzer and the OZAWA-method. Obtained kinetic parameters are modified to fit the experimental massloss curves.
