A Michelson Contrast Sensitive Silicon Retina
This paper describes a current mode silicon retina circuit whose output is sensitive to the Michelson contrast, which is defined as the difference between the foreground and background image intensities normalized by their sum. Measurements from a 10 by 10 pixel array fabricated in a 1.6μm process are presented. The output is encoded as the difference between two currents.
