Effect of different bagging treatments on the decline curves and residue levels of pyraclostrobin in whole banana, peel, pulp and soil under field conditions
Field studies were conducted to evaluate the dissipation rate kinetics of pyraclostrobinin whole banana, peel, pulp and soil under field condition and the effect of bagging technology was also evaluated.Quantitation of residues of pyraclostrobinwas done byhigh performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) over a period of 42 days, and recovery ofthe method ranged from 79 to 87 %.The half-lives of pyraclostrobin spraying to the fruit were 12.97 days in whole banana, 9.2 days in peel, 18.5 days in pulp and 8.8 days in soil, respectively.For the application of spraying to the leaf without bagging, the values were 12.9d,10.5d,13.8d and 9.6d.For the application of spraying to the leaf with bagging the values were 12.2d,9.5d,17.1d and 8.64d.Analysis of the variance for the effects on half-life of pyraclostrobin showed that half-life is uninfluenced by the way of applying and the sample types were significantly influenced the half-life.The terminal residues for three spray methods in pulp were found to be <0.02 mg/kg, based on the application rate(250g a.i./ha) and the pre-harvest interval(PHI =42 days) recommended by the manufacturer.Numberof application, dosage and PHI could affect terminal residue levels.The different dissipation processes of pyraclostrobin in whole banana, peel, pulp and soil under field conditions could be attributed to the different sample properties and the spray methods had no apparent effect on half-life.Spray methods affected the initial concentrations and finally led to different terminal residues.The results suggest that the use of pyraclostrobin on banana is considered to be safe under the Good Agricultural Practices(GAP) in the Chinese fields, and the main factors for pesticide residue in crops are application times, rates and PHI.
