Fourth order compact finite volume scheme for water wave simulation
This paper proposes a finite volume method with compact fourth-order accuracy scheme for numerical simulation of the water waves.The Padé type compact scheme is used in discretization of both convection and diffusion terms.The fourth-order Runge-Kutta method is used for temporal discretization and the velocity-pressure coupling is ensured at each stage.The volume of fluid (VOF) method is used to capture the free surface of the wave.The two-dimensional lid-driven cavity flow is used as example to validate the proposed scheme.Then the simulation of linear wave is conducted by the proposed model.The results of the wave simulation is in good agreement with the theoretical values, which implies that the proposed model has good efficiency and accuracy to simulate the water wave.
