Some Thoughts on Big Data Analytics in Oil and Gas Field

　　Hydrocarbon study would produce large amount of geological,geophysical,geochemical and other data with multiple formats.It is extremely challenging to explore and extract valuable but hidden information from the big data sources.Herein,this paper discusses the critical role of domain knowledge and the key questions in solving the former issue.An overview of the ontology-based approaches used to deal with the key problems is provided.Based on the above discussion,this paper proposes a preliminary research strategy for the big data analysis in oil and gas field.
