Comparison Study of two Converted Wave Prestack Time Migration Methods
EOM(Equivalent Offset Migration)and POM(Pseudo Offset Migration)are two important methods with different mapping modes in converted wave prestack time imaging.EOM puts the pseudo shot and the pseudo receiver at the same point to make the EOM gathers to be hyperbolic.Different from EOM,the ray path of POM meets the Snell”s Law,so the true common reflection point gathers can be extracted.In this paper,pseudo offset formula was deduced separately under two different extreme conditions.And converted wave imaging tests for complex models were carried out with these two methods.The advantages of these two prestack time migration methods were also analyzed and compared.The result shows that the time-distance curve”s hyperbolic characteristics of CCSP gathers formed by POM are precisely with lower noise.The common conversion scatter point gathers from POM have a higher velocity analysis accuracy.So POM method can get a better imaging result.
