Rotordynamic Design Considerations for the 23MW NAM-GLT Compressor with Magnetic Bearings

　　A very demanding magnetic bearing application is described: a 23 MW,130 barg multi-stage centrifugal compressor with a speed range from 10%to 105%.The requirements for the rotordynamic performance are defined.Special engineering tools covering the mechanical as well as the electronic controller part are necessary to achieve them.The results of the calculations and an experimental verification are given.
