Study of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Power System Relay Protection Fault Diagnosis

  Relay protection fault diagnosis is important for the security operation of power systems.In this paper,several artificial intelligence technologies which are developed rapidly for the fault diagnosis are introduced.The advantages and limitations of these technologies---Expert System(ES),Artificial Neural Network(ANN),Fuzzy Theory(FST),Petri Net and Genetic Algorithm(GA),are discussed.The developing direction of the artificial intelligence technologies for relay protection fault diagnosis in the future is explored as well.
