Related to ”Is K-ras Gene Mutation a prognostic factor for colorectal cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis”
Theras oncogene mutation is one of the commonly associated with colorectal cancer, especially the Kras mutation. However, the ras gene as a prognostic factor for patients with colorectal cancer remains unknown. With great interest we read the JiaoJiao Ren”spaper entitled ”Is K-ras Gene Mutation a prognostic factor for colorectal cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis”, and two data in JiaoJiao Ren”s study, as existing serious error and affecting the subsequently subgroup analysis. We re-extracted the data from the two articles and obtained new HRs of 2.40 (95% CI, 1.09-5.29, p=0.03) and 1.49 (95%CI, 0.94-2.38, p=0.09), respectively, based on the two article”s Log-Rank p value. Finally, we got the pooled HRs of 1.04 (95% CI, 0.84-1.29, p=0.73) which indicated that K-ras gene mutations not to correlate with the prognosis of patients with colorectal cancers.
