Influence of China and India on Myanmar”s Culture and Values
Myanmar share frontiers with India in the west and with the china on the north east.These two countries contributed no small measure of culture and civilization to the world including neighboring country like Myanmar.The indigenous races of Myanmar fall into three groups: the Tibeto Myanmar, the Mon Khamer and the Thai Chinese.There are several thousand domiciled Indians and Chinese scattered all over Myanmar.Myanmar since the pre-colonial days formed and evolved her socio cultural developments which are adapted with colonial influences.Independent Myanmar had to struggle with nation building and state building under various political systems of Parliamentary Democracy, Burmese way to Socialism and Military control.Recently, Myanmar reintegrated into world society and community after decades of isolation.How Myanmar developed and adapt her Socio Culture along with different era on one hand and impact of Socio Culture on the development of Myanmar needs to pay special attention by scholars of Myanmar.Exploring past experiences could help to understand today Myanmar which is paving the way for future developments.Under limited resources for a local Myanmar scholar, this paper attempts to better comprehension and awareness of what, why and how Myanmar faces different challenges at different times.
