Diane-35 combinated with metformin attenuates carbohydrate and lipid metabolic index in polycystic ovary syndromepatients:a systematic review
AIM:To evaluate the effects of combined metformin and Diane-35 administration in polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)patients.METHODS:We searched MEDLINE),the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials,PubMed and the Chinese National Knowledge In frastructure.Seven randomized control trials with a total of 347 PCOS patients were included.RESULTS:Seven randomized control trials with a total of 347 PCOS patients were included.Meta-analysis showed a significant effect of Diane-35 plus metformin on improving BMI in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(WMD=-1.01,95%CI”-1.56,-0.45”,Z=3.56,P=0.0004).Subgroup analysis of observational studies showed that 1)A significant effect of Diane-35 plus metformin on improving TC in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(WMD=-0.35,95%CI”-0.47,-0.24”,Z=5.87,P<0.00001.).2)A significant effect of Diane-35 plus metformin on improving TG in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(WMD=-0.18,95%CI”-0.33,-0.04”,Z=2.52,P=0.01.).3)A significant effect of Diane-35 plus metformin on improving LDL-C in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(SMD=-0.15,95%CI”-0.24,-0.06”,Z=4.31,P=0.0007.).4)A significant effect ofDiane-35 plus metformin on improving FBG in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(WMD=-0.50,95%CI”-0.68,-0.32”,Z=5.34,P<0.00001.).5)A significant effect of Diane-35 plus metformin on improving FINS in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(and SMD=-1.65,95%CI”-2.15,-1.15”,Z=6.46,P<0.00001.)6)A significant effect of Diane-35 plus metformin on improving HOMA-IR in PCOS patients was observed when compared with Diane-35 alone(SMD=-1.21,95%CI”-1.55,-0.88”,Z=7.21,P<0.00001.).Conclusion(s):Diane-35plus metformin will be helpful for improving metabolic symptoms in polycystic ovary syndrome patients.
