Investigation on Temperature Field of Ventilated Brake Disc Based on Sensitivity Analysis and Multi-Objective Optimization
Conventional studies on the temperature field of brake disc are based on the theory of transforming kinetic energy to ther-mal energy,without modeling the variation of braking pressure and friction coefficient in the braking process.This paper attempts to mod-el time varying heat flux of brake disc using a more detailed model that takes into account the equilibrium of the wheel system.A reasona-ble finite element model of brake disc is established,and a particular braking cycle is defined.The sensitivity analysis on the tempera-ture field of a ventilated brake disc has been carried out.Subsequently,multi-objective design optimization for the disc structure is im-plemented,with the target of preventing excessive wear caused by suboptimal temperature field.At last,a bench test on the temperature field of the brake disc is carried out,and the test results are consistent with that in the simulation.
