An Experimental Study of the Emission Characteristics of the Stage V Light Duty Vehicle Based on Vehicle Specific Power
Energy saving and emission reduction are becoming more and more urgent with the steady development of Chinese auto- motive industry. The vehicle NEDC test is carried out on a light duty vehicle. Based on the concept of Vehicle Specific Power(VSP), the relationship between vehicle specific power distribution and the emission and fuel consumption of the vehicle on a chassis dynamome- ter is analyzed. After analyzing the characteristics of VSP, it is found that the distribution range of VSP is mainly from-30 kW/t to 30 kW/t in the NEDC cycle. The VSP in urban driving cycle is divided into 24 bins and the relationships between emission and VSP bins are analyzed. The frequency curve of the number of VSP Bins is observed in a normal distribution. There is a significant relationship between each gaseous emission and VSP. According to the results of this study, VSP can be used to characterize the vehicle activities and accu- rate for the estimation of emissions and fuel consumption under real-world driving conditions. The analysis and results provide an ap- proach to the research of exhaust emissions and fuel consumption.
