Optimization and Analysis of Rear Seat Occupant’ s Protection Based on Full Width Frontal Rigid Barrier Crash Test(C-NCAP)

  Because of the submarining modifier and the severe injuries of chest and neck, a vehicle”s rear seat occupant only got a score of 0. 04 points in the full width frontal rigid barrier crash test(FRB)based on C-NCAP(2015). This paper analyzes the inju- ry”s mechanism of rear seat occupant and proposes the solution in the opinion of engineering. The score rose to 1. 54 points in the verifi- cation test that proves the effectiveness of the optimization and provides a feasible reference for subsequent vehicle development.
