Study On Auto-ignition and Combustion Property of Vehicle Tire
The auto-ignition of tire usually causes major safety accidents to automobile. From the viewpoint of temperature, this pa- per investigates causations of auto-ignition and combustion property about tire. By analyzing causations of auto-ignition, which is related to rolling tire friction heat, modeling of frictional heat generation on periodically deforming. Through the research of drum brake frictional heat source, the model about friction heat transfer from drum brake to wheel rim is built by using “Radiation Heat Transfer Network Method”. According to the tire combustion test, the lost mass curve and model could be obtained, including the distribution picture of the temperature about different burning phase when the tire is burning. Finally, some rational and effective measures are presented to prevent and control accidents caused by auto-ignition of tire.
