A Study on the Relationship between Rear Belt Inboard Lower Anchorage Position and Rear Occupant Injury
C-NCAP started to assess Hybrid III 5th percentile dummy injury in the rear row in the full frontal 50km/h rigid barrier impact test(FRB)and the frontal 64km/h offset deformable barrier test(ODB)since the year of 2012, This paper studiesthe effect of position of inboard anchorage on the injury numbers of rear dummy(Hybrid III 5th percentile female)in the FRB condition and in the ODB condition when the different rear seatbelt retractor configurations are used, the results indicate that more forward inboard an- chorage point tends to increasehead excursion, reduces chest deflection and possibility of submarining in both FRB and ODB conditions with the different rear seatbelt retractor configurations.
