Safety Evaluation System of Automobile Virtual Collision Based on Human Biomechanics Model

  Vehicle safety performance in the product development process occupies an important position. The vehicle response and the injury of the occupant after the collision can directly reflect the safety of automotive products, so the vehicle crash test can be used to verify the safety of the vehicle. This paper reviews the development of vehicle crash safety evaluation methods, analyzes its future devel- opment trend, and puts forward the establishment of safety evaluation system of automobile virtual collision based on human biomechani- cal model. In the four issues of the system establishment, the refined human biomechanics model is of great significance. Domestic and foreign scholars have carried out extensive research and achieved some results, developed a human biomechanical model based on human data in Europe and America, such as THUMS, HUMOS. Due to the gap between Chinese and foreign human body structure, European and American human body model cannot fully meet the requirements of Chinese vehicle safety design. After more than 10 years of explo- ration and research, the automotive structure and safety team of South China University of Technology has developed a human biome- chanical model(CHUBM)for 50-percentile Chinese men based on medical data and the model has been tested by a variety of meth- ods. CHUBM has laid a solid foundation for the follow-up construction of the safety evaluation system for the vehicle virtual collision.
