Optimization Research on Hot-Stamping of Tailored Blank of Magnesium-Polymer B Pillar
The hot deepdrawability of tailored blank B pillar which joined dissimilar material with magnesium and Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Polymers was studied by the finite element method. And the hot stamping technique based on servo-flexible stamping that the variable blank holder force combined controlling the servo press slide motion characteristic curves. The results suggested that the deep drawing performance were significantly improved by using servo-flexible stamping. Furthermore, the temperature distribution for B pillar of hot stamping were examined when deforming temperature elevated from473K to 548K. The results indicated that some hot-spot region appear in the B pillar which based on the theorem of the plastic work and friction work converted to heat. Considered the melting point of Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Polymers and the obtaining the best drawability of B pillar, the deformation temperature range of 523~548K was recommended.
