Enhancing Language Learning with Technology and iMTL I3 Design Principles
The iMTL Portal is an online learning platform designed to support the teaching and learning of Mother Tongue Languages(MTLs)in Singapore schools.This paper explains how the enhanced iMTL Portal is designed based on the I3(Interactive,Immersive,Integrative)principles,and how the design framework of ”Activate learning – Promote thinking and discussion – Facilitate demonstration of learning – Monitor and provide feedback” could guide teachers in using the portal to facilitate learning,increase interactions,and integrate language learning into students” daily lives,so as to create an immersive MTL learning environment.
