Validity Evidence of Peer Assessment Scores in a Massive Open Online Course
Peer assessment has been widely used in massive open online courses(MOOCs)as an assessment approach toprovide feedback to students.The quality of peer assessment is crucial to ensure useful feedback.However,there isconcern about the credibility of peer assessment.Validity evidence is regarded as the most important information toprovide support on the interpretation and use of peer assessment results.In this study,we provided validity evidence ofpeer assessment scores in a massive open online course(MOOC)with a comprehensive framework by examining therelationship of peer assessment results with not only instructor assessment results and student course engagementbehaviors.The validity evidence provides support for the use of peer assessment approach in MOOCs.
