The secret of deeper learning:The effect of S-IDEAL model on science learning

  The proliferation of MOOCs and learning analytics enables more innovative learning models in higher education.However,previous studies claim current MOOCs are lack of collaborative learning and require more holistic model to foster deeper learning experience.Based on preliminary findings of design-based research,this study conceptualizes the S-IDEAL model and investigates the effect of inquiry-based S-IDEAL model using offline and online behavioral data.The results show the positive values in both learning engagement and performance.Other instructional implication will be discussed in the paper.
