Research Trends of Mobile-Assisted Language Learning from 2007 to 2016:A Systematic Content Analysis of Publications
The implementation of mobile technology for language learning has sparked the interest of an increasing number of researchers in recent years.This paper is to present the research status and main research contents of computer-assisted language learning(MALL).In this review,181papers and its cited references were collected in the Web of Science from 2007 to 2016.A visualization analysis was made to quantify the research hotspots and frontier,high cocited literature,cited journals through software CiteSpace Ⅲ.With the NVivo11.0,the keywords were analyzed and then classified according to the similarity.The results revealed that MALL cannot leave the development mobile devices(apps,smart phones,tablets,iPods etc.)and MALL was carried out in various aspects.People generally hold an optimistic attitude towards the effects of mobile assistant language learning.We expect this paper could provide ideas and evidence for academia to research MALL further.
