Winter Measurements on Indoor Ultrafine particles of Urban Residences in Hangzhou,China:a Primary Analysis

In order to improve the urban residential indoor environment of hot summer and cold winter zone in China, field test is essential to better understand the actual situation in those specific cities. In this paper, seven residences in Hangzhou city with two or more permanent residents are selected to study the particulate matter in winter indoor areas.Through the fixed point and the movement test, some parameters indoors and outdoors were measured, such as particulate matters(PMs),temperature and humidity,CO2,window-opening behaviors, personnel activity records. The measured data were presented in the number and mass concentrations of PMs with different particle size between 10nm to100nm.The results indicate the contribution of PM0.1(ultrafine particles)to the concentration of PM1 is 0.7 to 0.9.The analysis of the comprehensive ventilation shows that the fluctuation mainly comes from the activities of the indoor personnel, such as cooking and human distribution. The number concentration of ultrafine particles produced by cooking is 3 to 11 times of the normal state. This conclusion can be used as a reference for further research on the source and contribution of indoor particulate matter.
