Impact of diversity on the evolution of cooperation in spatial multigames

In this paper,we introduce diversity into spatial multigames and study its impact on the evolution of cooperation. We show that social diversity, determined by the payoff scaling factors from the uniform, exponential or power-law distribution, significantly promotes cooperation.Monte Carlo simulation on the square lattice reveals that a power-law distribution of social diversity is in fact optimal for socially favorable states, thus resonating with findings previously reported for single social dilemmas. We also explore the influence of neighbor diversity on the evolution of cooperation in the multigames, and find that the cooperative behavior can be promoted within a certain parameter range.
