A Comparative Study of Conventional versus Laparoendoscopic Single-port surgery(LESS)totally extraperitoneal(TEP)hernioplasty
Objective To compare the outcomes of laparoendoscopic Single-port surgery(LESS)totally extraperitoneal hernioplasty(LESS-TEP)and conventional totally extraperitoneal(CTEP)hernioplasty.Methods The clinical data of 38 cases of laparoendoscopic Single-port surgery totally extraperitoneal hernioplasty(LESS-TEP)and 40 cases of conventional totally extraperitoneal(CTEP)From March 2015 to December 2016 were retrospectively analyzed.Results All operations were successful performed.The operative time in the LESS-TEP group increased significantly than the CTEP group(P<0.05); the cosmetic outcome in the LESS-TEP group was better than the CTEP group”s(P<0.05).There was no significance of difference between the 2 groups in the hospitalization time,the incidence of complications,post-operative pain and medical costs(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with the conventional TEP,LESS-TEP is a feasible and safe alternative for treatment of inguinal hernias since it has better cosmetic outcome.
