Dose distribution comparison of 3D-CRT technology, IMRT technology and VMAT technology for Grave”s ophthalmopathy

  Objective To guide a better clinical selection of radiation technology in the treatment of Grave”s ophthalmopathy by comparing the dose distribution and parameters of 3D-CRT technology, IMRT technology and VMAT technology.Methods 20 cases of diagnosis of Graves ophthalmopathy (double side) of patients with accurate positioning technique,obtained by spiral CT scan image positioning, target area and its surrounding tissues after got the ball 3D data,then adopt the three-dimensional conformal irradiation(3D-CRT)technology,reverse intensity-modulated (IMRT) irradiation technology and volume rotating intensity-modulated (VMAT) irradiation technology for the design of treatment plan, comparing plans to target organs (PTV) has and endanger crystal (LEN) dose distribution, dose volume histogram and dosimetry parameters.Results For the parameters of the PTV CI and HI, statistically significant difference were observed in the comparison between three kinds of technology.The parameters of LENs” Dmin, Dmean and Dmax, IMRT and VMAT technology difference compared with 3D-CRT technology were statistically significant (P < 0.05), but IMRT technology there was no statistically significant difference in comparison with VMAT technology.Conclusions VMAT irradiation technology as a whole is better than that of 3D-CRT irradiation technology and IMRT irradiation technology, it not only has good conformal target, and normal tissue crystal illuminated dosage is low.For clinical radiotherapy in patients with Graves ophthalmopathy provides a new choice.
