Enzymatic synthesis of L-cysteine with keratin acid hydrolysis industrial wastewater treated by electrodialysis

  The novel electrodialysis-biocatalysis integrated process was proposed for effectively recycling keratin acid hydrolysis industrial wastewater.The ionic species including ammonia chloride, L-aspartic acid, L-glutamic acid were removed from the wastewater by electrodialysis and collected as fertilizer again.Compared with forming light brown paste for the original wastewater, the wastewater treated with electrodialysis was condensed to obtain L-serine solution of high concentration, which could be utilized as the substrate and efficiently converted to L-cysteine by recombinant tryptophan synthase.
