Can S100B predict posttraumatic hydrocephalus in patientssuffering from traumatic brain injury
Background: Posttraumatic hydrocephalus (PTH) is a frequent complication secondary to traumatic brain injury(TBI), Protein S100B has proven to be a usefulbiomarker for cerebral damage. In patients withTBI, the course of S100B levels has been correlated with neurological deficits and outcome. The primaryaim of this study was to investigate the potential of S100B protein as a predictor of Posttraumatic hydrocephalusin patients with traumatic brain injury.
