Antimicrobial Membrane Based on Hybrid Cuprous Oxide Nanowires with Silver Nanoparticles
The agglomeration and leakage of fillers will hinder the development of the antimicrobial membranes to a large extent. In this study, novel Cu2O nanowires/PSF membrane prepared by dispersing one-dimensional Cu2O nanowires in PSF casting solutions and Ag-Cu2O nanowires/PSF membrane prepared by mixing the silver nanoparticles coated Cu2O nanowires into the polymer phase have been designed and developed. The antimicrobial and permeability properties of blended membranes were significantly enhanced by the addition of nanowires with little Cu and Ag ions leakage.
